End of the Word University is a spoken word album that offers a thoughtful reflection on the college experience through the lens of a minority student, capturing the journey from start to finish.
When a Poet Loves is a short film written and directed by Shatara Jordan, inspired by the classic film Love Jones. The story explores the complexities of love between two poets navigating their artistic and romantic connection. The film premiered at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Cleveland OH in April 2023. The film was also an official selection for the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival 2023. The film will be available on streaming platforms soon.
CINEMATIC POETRY + POET COVERS
Cinematic Poetry (noun) is a genre of musical literature inspired by the sensations and emotions felt from film, fictional characters, and storytelling. Poet Cover (verb) is a record or performance of a poetic interpretation of a song, movie, tv show, or media production, originally made by someone else. These are the official definitions originated by Mixxed Rose, and while creating poetry to music is nothing new, this particular style of genre bending is how she has chosen to embrace her love for theatre, film, and music.
